About the LMH Class of 2015 "Bright Idea" Project

The Leadership Morgan Hill Class of 2015 has a “Bright Idea” for our 20th Anniversary project – and we’re rallying the community to make it happen!

In the coming weeks, we invite you to join friends, colleagues, local businesses and civic organizations on our mission to enhance the experience of residents and out-of-town guests at this year’s Annual Friday Night Music Series with a state-of-the-art stage lighting system for the Downtown Amphitheater at the Community and Cultural Center.

We’re kicking off a series of fundraising events and promotional activities this month to bring the community-at-large together, with a goal to raise $25,000 in funds to design, build and install the new lighting system.  Sponsors, donors and in-kind contributors to the project will have a hand in broadening the appeal of the amphitheater for additional events (concerts, ceremonies, lectures, etc.), with upside potential for bringing in revenues to the City of Morgan Hill from new renters.

Please accept our invitation to shine a light on the downtown amphitheater with your contribution to the “Bright Idea” project for Leadership Morgan Hill!

Q: Why did the Leadership Morgan Hill Class of 2015 choose the amphitheater stage lighting project?

A:  Among the top criteria set by the Leadership Morgan Hill Board of Directors is that each Class project offer clear benefits to the citizens of Morgan Hill.

The Leadership Morgan Hill Class of 2015 has determined that the current amphitheater stage lighting system is inadequate to meet the needs of all users. Currently, renters of the venue must incur the cost for rental and temporary installation of lighting for evening events, such as the annual Friday Night Music Series hosted by the Morgan Hill Chamber of Commerce.  Although the City of Morgan Hill has identified the need for a permanent stage lighting system, it is not a budgeted line item for 2015. Thus, the decision by the Class of 2015 to address this unmet need for the community.

A permanent, state-of-the –art stage lighting system will not only enhance the experience of residents and out-of-town guests at this year’s Annual Friday Night Music Series, but will broaden the appeal of the amphitheater for additional events (concerts, ceremonies, lectures, etc.), with upside potential for bringing in revenues to the City of Morgan Hill from new renters.

Q: How soon will the system be installed?

A: Although our plan of record is to raise $25,000 in funds for installation of the new stage lighting system by August 2015, the Leadership Morgan Hill Class of 2015 fully intends to exceed fundraising expectations in time to benefit this year's Friday Night Music Series, which kicks off on June 5th. As such, our stretch goal is to have the funds in place by May 29, 2015 (sponsorships by May 1st) and we’re offering lead sponsors an opportunity to enjoy special commemorative benefits for getting on board early with the “Bright Idea” project.

Q: What sponsorship and donor levels are available to support the project?
